Wrapping Up June 2021

Hello superstar wrappers! I hope that June was a solid month of wrapping, as the industry seems to be busier than ever. Here are the videos that were released last month:

Our booth at Wrapscon was super fun. Our cutting contest featured 3 tests: TWI Bing Bing Plate, 3M Wrap The Dots and Chance of Clouds, and these challenges were super engaging and enjoyed by attendees. We had over 200 people take part in it with everyone getting a free TWI t-shirt and a daily prize from AutoSauce worth $350.

We had great wrap demos each day featuring myself and members from the MOB, specifically Charlie Trujillo, Preston Jordan and Istavan Hargattai.

It was so nice to be back in person at a show, so we hope that The Wrap Experience event in Miami in December will be well attended.

In July, we host our first Color Change and Upsell workshop at our center in Munich. This workshop has 18 sponsors and is truly a game changer. We are lucky to have Stephane from TWI France and Dimas from TWI Brazil on hand during the workshop as well. We will have 4 of these in 2021 so be sure to sign up!

Quick tip: be sure to visit the shop section on the website in order to take advantage of all the special benefits TWI members have - free PDFs and special discounts for great products.

Thank you for being a member, and look forward to great new videos in July.

Cheers,
Justin

Wrapping Up May 2021

Hey superstars! I hope May treated everyone well. We have some exciting news but first, here are the great videos we released last month.

We have a very cool booth planned for Wrapscon this year, so if you're at the show, be sure to join us. If you can’t make it, no worries. We'll have a great videographer there as well as Tim Evans from Wrapper Mapper taking pictures, so there will be lots of footage on TWI for you to check out.

In the booth, we will have a van and a Lamborghini. These will be wrapped throughout the day with material from: Avery Dennison, Arlon, Hexis, General Formulations and 3M. All the prints are by WePrintWraps and we will be using tools from PIDPROSeries.

We have two great prize giveaways. One is a series of cutting contests: TWI Bing Bing Plates, Wrap the Dots and Chance of Clouds. Anyone who takes part in these challenges gets a free Wrap N Roll t-shirt and the best time + score each day will win a $350 kit from Auto Sauce.

Secondly, we will be having a speedwrap each day with the MOB members (Masters of Branding). It's a great learning experience AND it's part of our NSL contest. This means that you'll have a chance to guess how long it will take to wrap on The Wrap Institute Instagram page (and you can still guess and win even if you're not at the show)! The person closest to the time can win a prize up to $1000. Too cool!

We also have an exciting new announcement that will be coming in June so look out for that!

As always thank you for being a TWI member and have a great month!

Cheers,
Justin

Wrapping Up April 2021

Hello TWI Superstars! I hope that April was filled with happy clients and amazing wraps. Here are the new videos that dropped:

We hoped that you enjoyed the Wrap Warrior Game Show during the ISA Show. The guys in the contest said it was the most fun/stressful contest they have ever taken part in. It was super fun to make and we hope to do more in the future.

We are very excited to announce that we will have an amazing booth at Wrapscon June 15-17. TWI will be working with MOB - Master of Branding. The idea is to have 3 cars in the booth - a van, a lambo and a sedan. We will be doing demos throughout the day plus super speedwraps that are part of the Never Stop Learning contest. This is your chance to see top professionals at the top of their game and to win amazing prizes. We will also have our TWI Bing Bing plates, 3M Wrap The Dots and a TWI balloon contest to test your cutting skills. Be sure to come by our booth if you are at the show and if you can’t make it, we will be filming everything and putting it on TWI.

Take advantage of the Race Ramps discount that was just renewed: JPWRAPS. This will get you 15% off of their products and it's the best discount worldwide. It's exclusive to TWI members so it's extra special.

For new videos, be sure to check out the F12 series and there will be some great interior videos popping up in May as well.

Thanks as always for supporting the quest to Never Stop Learning!™ and have a great month!

Cheers,
Justin

The Never Stop Learning Contest: Wrap Warrior Game Show

The first-ever Never Stop Learning Contest: Wrap Warrior Game Show took place during the 2021 ISA Sign Expo - Virtual on April 9th, 2021. The digital event featured competition, prizes, learning, and of course, tons of wrapping.

The game show featured 4 contestants and 4 rounds of competition. Each contestant was given 100 mini-squeegees, and deducted squeegees for mistakes throughout the rounds. Whoever managed to keep the most mini-squeegees throughout all 4 rounds was named the Wrap Warrior Champion, and won an all-expenses-paid trip to Miami for the in-person ISA Sign Expo in December 2021.

The structure of the rounds consisted of two parts: A Q&A at the beginning of each round where contestants were given advantages for answering correctly, and the physical wrapping challenge. The wrapping challenge included: The Bing Bing Plate Challenge, Wrap the Dots, The Balloon Challenge, Sticker Bomb Mania, PPF Puzzle, and Blindfolded Wrapping.

At the end of each round, The Wrap Institute held a panel discussion with industry experts where we chatted about the designated topic: Cutting, Design and Communication, PPF, and Employee Training. During the panel discussion, Justin asked a question he had asked the contestants in the previous round, and whichever show attendee could answer the fastest (and correctly!) in the comments won a *BIG* prize.

In addition to the Wrap Warrior Game Show, The Wrap Institute had a booth in the Expo Hall that we answered questions and offered discount codes in from April 6th - 8th. On April 7th, Justin Pate came into the booth and answered questions on camera while talking about the website, Wrap Institute membership, and wrapping in general.

While we’re excited to begin preparations for our next Wrap Experience in August 2021, this event was a win for all involved, giving sponsors great visibility, contestants lots of prizes, and viewers a jam-packed learning experience.

Wrapping Up March 2021

Hello fellow wrappers! There are lots of exciting topics to get to, but first let’s check out the videos we dropped in March!

On April 9, be sure to join us for the Wrap Warrior Game Show. It's going to be an amazing, prize-packed learning experience. It's part of the virtual ISA Sign Show and will run from 11:30am to 4pm EST. There will be exciting, action-filled competitions, super informative panel discussions with leading wrap experts, and fantastic prize giveaways worth over $8,000. Registration is FREE so be sure to sign up before April 9.

On another exciting note, The Wrap Experience is back in 2021 with two virtual events and an in-person show. The two virtual events are 2 days each and take place on May 26-27 and August 25-26. These will be just like the super fun and engaging show from November 2020, but with new content. The in-person show will be in Miami, and there will be more info on this event coming out shortly. The Wrap Experience is the ticket for great insights, connections and much more, so you won't want to miss these events!

We've been making a ton of new videos in Munich so be on the lookout for them starting in mid-April. Rainer and the crew have come up with new styles which we really think you'll enjoy.

Best of luck to you in April and as always, Never Stop Learning!

Cheers,
Justin

Wrapping Up February 2021

Hello TWI Superstars! I hope February treated everyone well.  We have a lot of exciting news to share but first here are the new videos that were released:

As you may have heard, TWI is partnering with Color Concepts, a company similar to TWI that focuses on the large format printing industry. This partnership will expand our platform to cover wrap production with more depth and expertise. In addition, the Color Concepts Creative Studio will advance our video-making capabilities significantly. Look for the release of more exciting details over the next couple of months.

During the ISA Sign Expo Virtual event on April 9th, TWI will have 4 hours of air time and is excited to announce that we are hosting a very special Never Stop Learning Contest. It will feature super fun games, informational and engaging panel discussions, and big prize giveaways. Be sure to sign up for the ISA event in order to take part and hopefully win big! It's going to be legendary.

Additionally, TWI will be hosting our second Wrap Experience online event in partnership with ISA. If you took part in our first one in November, you know just how fun and amazing it was. We have some even bigger plans for the one in May, so be sure to mark off May 26-27th on your calendar.

Lastly, be sure to keep an eye out for a new workshop and e-learning course that we will launch in a few months. It'll be a ground-breaking learning experience that you won't want to miss [and if you're a TWI member, you'll get a special discount]!

With that, I hope you all have a solid March, and thank you as always for your support and passion to Never Stop Learning!™

Cheers,
Justin

Color Concepts and The Wrap Institute are joining forces

The Wrap Institute began as a vision to create a new, accessible way to learn about wrapping. A comprehensive online training resource for the industry did not exist and the idea quickly evolved into a mission to develop a cutting-edge, digitally-based instructional platform with a global reach. The Wrap Institute was launched in 2014 and has become the authority on industry standards, tools, and techniques. Now, with more than 2,400 instructional videos, thousands of active subscribers, and online and live events around the world, The Wrap Institute offers those in the wrap and restyling world a convenient, economical and professional way to improve their knowledge and increase their skill set.

Color Concepts started in 2003 by providing technical knowledge around digital large format printing. With more than 300 partners and customers, and over 100.000 registered print and sign companies on ColorBase, they provide solutions throughout the supply chain. Through their inhouse development team, color scientists, data architects, creatives, and sales experts, Color Concepts assist all the way from material development to custom technology and software solutions, sales, distribution, and marketing.

The Wrap Institute and Color Concepts will merge their selections of services into one, with each organization complementing the other. The Wrap Institute will aid Color Concepts by providing in-depth knowledge of the wrap and restyling industry, while Color Concepts will help boost The Wrap Institute’s platform by offering significant expertise and upstream knowledge on production, infrastructure, sales and web-platform development and anything print-related. This partnership will substantially enhance the capabilities and services offered by both organizations for users, manufacturers, and distributors.

The partnership is effective immediately.

"This partnership emphasizes our commitment to become a full-service organization for manufacturers and distributors in the graphic arts industry. The Wrap Institute’s competence, customer base and content perfectly complement Color Concepts’ services and platform. Being able to not only assist material and printer manufacturers in the development, support, marketing and sales of their products, but also creating the tutorials, training and development assistance for the application of materials, is a completion of our services offering. We are excited to welcome Justin and his team to our bunch of Crazy Ones!”

Marco Roos - CEO and Founder of Color Concepts

"There are moments in the evolution of a business that are truly pivotal, and one of them for The Wrap Institute and I was meeting Marco and his team this fall. The values, focus on learning, commitment to neutrality and having a deep passion for the “Never Stop Learning!™” mentality are part of both ours and their DNA, and this was apparent right away. While The Wrap Institute provides knowledge and installation instruction, Color Concepts compliments this with their expertise on printing, data development and product testing. Together, this partnership provides a truly all-encompassing educational and marketing platform for the entire wrap and restyling industry that everyone can benefit from. I can honestly say that this is one of those special 1+1=3 moments!”

Justin Pate - CEO and Founder of The Wrap Institute

Wrapping Up January 2021

Hello all you superstar TWI members! I hope the first month of 2021 treated you well. We have a lot of exciting news to share with you but first, here are the new instructional videos that dropped in January:

We're kicking off February with a super cool 360° full print wrap series (find it in Playlists once all videos have been released). It has a lot of amazing new techniques and focuses on wrapping the entire Volkswagen van in one piece of full print film. You're not going to want to miss this one. We will also have some great production videos this month!

Soon, we will be announcing an exciting new partnership. It'll really help round out our platform so that TWI will truly be a go-to resource for the entire wrap industry - print, production and install. Be sure to stay tuned, as your membership is about to gain even more value!

The ISA Sign Expo, where we were planning on having the Never Stop Learning area and The Wrap Experience in-person, has now moved to online. The Wrap Institute will have a big presence during the event, so stay tuned for updates as more details of our sessions and events are solidified. In addition, we'll be a part of a variety of virtual events in 2021, so keep an eye out for these announcements!

We hope that even with everything happening in the world, you are able to stay safe and focused.

Cheers,
Justin

Wrapping Up December 2020

Hello TWI superstars! This is the last monthly newsletter for 2020. What a year! Before I share some great info let’s go over the videos released in December:

On August 1st, we began adding subtitles in English, French, German and Spanish to all our videos. This is a great perk to take advantage of if you aren't fluent in English, or have trouble hearing. In addition, you can now slow the video down. We are constantly looking to improve your user experience, so if you have any suggestions for other changes please let us know.

This month we added two new exclusive discounts for TWI members. The first discount is 15% off all Gtechniq products in the U.S. and Europe, and the second is 10% off Magnet Source products. My personal favorite is the Magnetic ToolMat - we created an Official Product Video earlier this year for the tool, and it's a must-have for any wrap shop! Visit the Shop to start saving!

In early 2021, keep an eye out lor a very cool series featuring Rainer Lorz along with some great production videos.

More importantly, look for a big announcement from us about a new workshop/online course program. It's going to be mind-blowing and we can’t wait to kick off 2021 with it. We will also be hosting two virtual The Wrap Experience events as well as taking part in the ISA Sign Expo in April. This will include the Never Stop Learning contest that will feature trainers from Avery Dennison, Arlon, 3M and ORAFOL. There will be 108 spots to grab so be sure to sign up once it's open. We can’t wait!

Thanks as always for being a member of TWI as your dedication to learning constantly pushes us. Happy holidays and best wishes to you and your family. Never Stop Learning™!

Cheers,
Justin

The Wrap Experience

The Wrap Experience, a collaborative two-day extravaganza hosted by The Wrap Institute and ISA, took place November 11-12 and had a fantastic turnout. The event featured over 20 sponsors and thousands of attendees. The event was structured around a virtual “main stage”, featuring Justin Pate and The Wrap Institute team, and included breakout sessions, a roulette-style networking feature, and “booth” areas for each sponsor where attendees could visit to get more information and event-exclusive discount codes.

Justin and the team at The Wrap Institute hosted 10 episodes on the main stage of The Wrap Experience (which are all featured in this playlist!). Each episode was sponsored by a leading industry brand, and dove into a wrap-specific topic. For example, one of the episodes covered the boom of color change wraps during the COVID-19 pandemic, and why this section of the industry didn’t take a hit as expected. In the episodes, Justin paired demonstrations alongside interviews with each of the sponsors, giving the attendees an immersive experience that included a heap of information from a variety of manufacturers.

The TWI Team structured the episodes with a “Las Vegas” theme in mind, to give attendees an experience as close to the true sign show experience as possible. With wigs, costumes and skits - the team went all-out.

In addition to the main stage episodes, we had over 20 breakout sessions! About half of these sessions were sponsored and led by the company sponsoring the session, and the other half were sessions with wrap industry leaders such as Bruno Dede, John Duever, Matt Richart, Tim Evans and more. In the sponsor-led sessions, the sponsor presented content live, and was able to bring any industry or company leaders into their session to aid the presentation. One of the best parts about the sessions was that it was easy for session attendees to ask questions and interact with the session leaders. Leaders were able to bring attendees onto “stage” to ask questions in realtime, which cultivated a true sign show experience.

Each sponsor was given the opportunity to host a booth at The Wrap Experience. Inside the booth, sponsors displayed new products, special deals and chatted live with booth visitors. If an attendee wanted more information about the booth, they could register interest and share their information with the booth with just the click of a button.

One of the most important parts of a sign show is networking, and while it might seem difficult to network at a virtual show, our automated networking platform made networking as simple as pushing a button. Once attendees were ready to connect, they could press a button, and the system would pair them randomly with someone else from the show for three minutes. At the end of the three minutes, both attendees would be able to share their information with each other, but the information would only be shared if both attendees mutually agreed.

While we’re excited for our Wrap Experience booth at the ISA Sign Show Expo this upcoming April, The Wrap Experience - Virtual truly was a success in all areas, and allowed attendees, sponsors, and industry professionals to come together in this extraordinary time.
