It's Our Two-Year Anniversary [A Note from Justin]

January 1, 2016 marked the two-year anniversary of The Wrap Institute. I would like to begin by thanking all the members and sponsors for their support. When TWI launched, it began with only 80 videos at roughly six hours with the big question: will people would want to join a streaming video platform? Well, thanks to all the members in 60+ countries, it is clear that TWI is something that has helped get beginners up to speed and take advanced installers to that next level. The positive response has really pressed myself and everyone at TWI to keep on learning ourselves and pushing boundaries. I am very happy to say that TWI now has 556 videos at almost 74 hours with many more already in the pipeline.

2015 was a busy one with over 300 new videos added. Some of the big series that really stand out are: Knifeless Tech Systems, Full Print Car Wrap Series, Two-Tone Week, Cold Pre-Stretch from Koji Yamaguchi, custom tool videos with Frank Fellers (exclusively on their site), a week with Joffrey van der Jagt, Wrapscon, 54-minute color change speedwrap at Jim Miller’s and the 22-minute full print SEMA speedwrap

I also really appreciated the leaders in the industry taking the time to be interviewed: John Duever, Garry van der Breghe, Adam Sumner and Austin Smith.

I want to give a special thanks to my partner Scott Bechtel, owner of Car Wrap City, for all his help with the site. Cassandra Pate has done a great job with the IG posts along many other tasks, and Tanya Marcum always does spot on work with design and marketing projects. I also want to thank the lead installers at Car Wrap City – Carlos, Xavier, Alberto and Jellybean for their help during the year on the major shoots.

2016 already has some great projects in the works with a focus on paint protection film, a 20-25 video color change series (by request) and lots of videos on pricing with the help of The Wrap App and John Duever. Wrapscon will be super exciting with lots of big plans in the works (stay tuned), and it looks like SEMA will have some special events that will be featured on TWI.

I want to thank all the sponsors who help make TWI run smoothly: Mutoh, Avery Dennison, Fellers, Knifeless Tech Systems, Polyalto, Teckwrap, Monkey Strips and Croftgate USA.

As always, if you have a request for a new video always feel free to post it in the Forum, or shoot a message on Facebook or Instagram. Also starting in January, TWI will be backing the launch of www.wrapwear.com which will feature custom pants and shorts made specifically for wrapping. I think they are really special and will help make wrapping even easier and more professional. All TWI members will get a discount so keep an eye out for that in the coming weeks.

Thanks again for your support and never stop learning!

Cheers,
Justin
