Wrapping mirrors can be one of the most challenging aspects of any wrap job, whether it’s commercial, color change, or PPF. At The Wrap Institute, we’ve developed two silver bullet techniques—Zero Stretch and Triple S—that make mirror wraps quicker, more durable, and of higher quality. These methods ensure that your installs are faster and have a flawless finish, giving your clients premium results while saving you time and effort.
No more "Sanding"
One of the biggest challenges when wrapping mirrors is dealing with "sanding." When the material is stretched too tightly around curves, the adhesive can bunch up, creating small imperfections that look like dirt under the film. This significantly reduces the quality of the wrap. By applying a coat of Triple S on the surface before wrapping, you can eliminate sanding and achieve a smooth, paint-like finish. This simple step ensures top-notch quality, making both customers and installers happy.
Wrapping a mirror without pre-stretching the film is like driving with the parking brake on—it creates unnecessary tension. Taking 20-60 seconds to apply Zero Stretch to the material before wrapping eliminates this tension, making the film easier to conform to the mirror’s curves. With this technique, the material sits with minimal tension on the outside edges, preventing long-term issues like bottle capping. This approach not only speeds up the wrapping process but also ensures greater durability over time.
Installing vinyl wraps on mirrors can be time-consuming and prone to tension-related issues, especially on curved surfaces. That’s where Wrap U Ezee, developed by Yellotools in collaboration with Rainer Lorz, comes in. This innovative tool helps distribute the tension evenly across the mirror, allowing for a flawless install in just a few minutes. By using Wrap U Ezee, you can achieve fast, high-quality results with minimal effort, reducing install times significantly while maintaining durability and precision.
