Dry PPF is around 8mil thick which means that when making inlays and overlays, the overlap can be thick which can lead to durability issues. On areas that aren't high grab points or visual, overlaps can be ok. Yet, for these areas, butt joints should be used instead of overlaps. In this video Justin shows how to make butt joints with dry PPF using 3M Triline. It's a different style for making butt joints compared to PVC so be sure to check it out! Film used: Flexishield.
