TWI Techniques: Butt Joints for Dry PPF
Created over 2 years ago
Dry install PPF is unique in terms of install, especially with sharp corners and tight gaps. See how Dimas and Rainer prep the surface and edges with a low tack solution, masking tape and 3M Design Line. Then, during the install, they use the TWI Wrap Matrix to set the film up to shrink to the surface. They then use a combination of feeding and forming to avoid adhesives lines on the main surface. For finishing, note how Rainer uses heat to relax the corners and body lines after cutting then steam to activate the adhesive when done.
