Smooth Adhesive, Seamless Installs.
Air Egress Isn’t Always Essential.
Many new installers think that air egress is a must-have for every film. After all, it makes air escape easier and seems to speed up installs. But here’s the deal—some wraps are actually better without air egress. Whether it’s for optical clarity, better surface conformity, or cost savings, flat adhesive films can deliver top-tier results—if you know how to work with them. Let’s break down when and why no air egress is the smart move.
For materials like optically clear gloss PPF, window tint, and translucent colored vinyl, a flat adhesive is best. Why? Air egress channels can show through and reduce the visual quality. Flat adhesives give a smooth, crystal-clear finish, but they require wet installs. Wet doesn’t mean slow—especially with TWI’s expert videos, where you can learn to wrap wet with precision and speed.
When wrapping walls—flat or textured—skip the air egress. These surfaces naturally allow air to escape, so non-egress films are ideal. Not only do you save on material costs, but flat adhesives also conform better to textures. That means better bonding, smoother finishes, and no need for extra tech. Flat adhesive for walls? Nearly always a win.
We love laminated window perf—it's easier to install, protects better, and removes cleanly. But here’s the trick: there’s no air egress. Avoid bubbles by keeping the liner on longer, prepping the glass with Triple S to reduce tack, and bridging film on molding to keep it lifted while squeegeeing. With the right techniques and tools, laminated perf installs clean and clear.
These four TWI videos show you exactly how to get flawless results with flat adhesives. Dive in and learn wet installs, wall techniques, and window perf perfection—all without air egress.
