May Overview

Hello everyone – I hope May was a busy month for everyone. It certainly was for The Wrap Institute. New videos added this month: - Calendar film overview - Leeching technique overview - Leeching technique: front bumper - Front bumper: brushed metallic - Door handle: pre-stretch with lamination tape - Aftercare products - Infrared heater - Drying a wet vehicle with the windshield wiper * - Wrapping a roof solo - Complicated front bumper - Speedwrap – Brushed metallic with chrome ** * This was the first video submitted to TWI from a user, which is very exciting. A great tip on how to dry a wet car by Real Hit Media. With the drawing for the biannual “Submit a Video” contest coming up on July 16 they are in good position to win the first place prize. If you have a cool tip or technique, submit it to day to win and get recognized ** This video is essential for beginners to see the overall process and experienced installers to lower install times. We are proud of our new sponsor – The Magnet Resource who make the Wrap Magnet. Look out for their commercial before the videos. In June, TWI will be doing a huge video shoot in Dallas at Car Wrap City’s new, state of the art facility. Items to be filmed: back doors of a trailer, toilet, coffins, refrigerator, floors, walls, car antennas, between the cab and beds of trucks, skateboard, curved back window with window perf, funny car, boat and much more so expect a wide variety of new video in the next two months. Thanks as always for your membership and for always learning and working to get better. Justin

Justin's April Overview

Hello everyone – I hope you had a nice April and that you are ready for a busy wrap season if you are in the Northern Hemisphere.    Some very exciting news for TWI is that we have agreed to terms with three big names in the wrap industry to make videos in their field of expertise.   As soon as the contracts are signed they will begin to make videos and we hope to have them start appearing on the site in June.  Also, Fellers in the U.S. has given memberships to all their Fellers Certified installers.  Fellers has also become a sponsor on the site.  We are happy to be associated with Frank Fellers as he has a genuine passion for car wrapping, which TWI appreciates.

In April, the following videos were added to the library:

  • Wall Install Overview
  • Wall Install Vertical Panels
  • Aftercare Products
  • Laminating Chrome
  • Removing Side Molding
  • Extra Wide Hood with exotic film
  • Brushed Jaguar TWI commercial
  • Removing Mirrors on the Body
  • Pre-Stretch Door Handle
  • Tack Cloth
  • Problem Solving: Stuck Door Handle Lever

I am currently in route to Brazil where I will be doing demos for a manufacturer at a sign show and teaching a workshop.  I will be working with calendar film so plan to make some videos on how to apply that type of film to vehicles, which requires a different approach than cast.

Thanks as always for your support and don’t forget to submit a video if you have a cool technique or tip.  We will are getting submissions, which will go up on the site this month.  Exciting.

Thanks

-Justin

Happy May Day!

TWI would like to wish all of our constituents, a Happy May Day! As we are an international assemblage, with different holidays, languages and times zones, we all celebrate the art of wraps, the language of wrinkles, and the time to wrap is always relative. So we place our hands together and applaud to each and every one of you who strives to be the best and achieve the highest levels of your profession. May the colors of the blooming flowers spill upon the films and may your squeegees paint the world one stroke at a time!
