February Overview

Hello everyone – I hope everyone is wrapping up a storm and enjoying the videos on The Wrap Institute.

This month I shot lots of new footage in Dallas with the installers from Car Wrap City – blue chrome Cadillac, brushed metallic Jaguar and a full print wrap on a Ford Cargo van in real time. All this footage will be coming out in March.

Starting March 3, the site will get an update with a better search function and much more. Please note that below the video is a comment section. If you have a question or comment feel free to post it. Also, if you have any requests feel free to submit them and we will post them for everyone to see. If I can’t get to it, feel free to make a video on it and submit it to get recognition and win prizes.

Here are the videos added this month:

  • complicated mirrors
  • plastic removal tools
  • backdoor prop
  • properties of chrome film
  • 90 degree angle mirror
  • door molding
  • empty/solid cut
  • chrome blue antenna
  • jeep grill
  • full coverage free floating windows
  • post install: problem solving

Thanks for being a member!

Cheers, Justin

January Overview for The Wrap Institue

Hello everyone, this is Justin from The Wrap Institute.

I hope everyone had a great start to 2014 and that the videos have helped you take it to the next level. This was a very exciting month as it marked the official announcement of the site, which was received well beyond our expectations. Also, the site is starting to come together in terms of flow and content which is exciting.

I will be in Texas in the next few days so I can sit down with the tech team in order to really take the site to the next level so look for big changes in February.

In January the following videos were added:

  • large vinyl cutouts
  • laptop wraps
  • deep recessed area overview
  • two full print recessed tips
  • clean cut full print recessed areas
  • reflective film overview
  • interior film overview
  • standard spoiler
  • laminating an IKEA table
  • used blade container
  • soft squeegee
  • chunky hinges
  • problem solving: lifting
  • problem solving: splitting
  • compound curve – van back.

In February, I am shooting three full days with the installers from Car Wrap City in Dallas. I can’t say what we are shooting but it’s going to be spectacular and will be up on the site mid-February so look out for that.

As always, feel free to submit a video on cool tool or technique to help build the library, get recognition for yourself and win prizes. For more info on this click on the Submit page. We at The Wrap Institute are always open to feedback, positive or negative, so always feel free to reach out as our goals is to provide the best platform for you to learn and make more money.

Thanks again for becoming a member and best of luck.

For January, on slate is to add videos on deep recessed areas, compound curves, the technique of leeching for bumpers and deep recessed lights, cutting techniques, motorcycles, window tinting, laptops and much more. As the site takes shape, the tool section will have more details and links for where to buy tools. The resource page will be fully functioning within days and will be a great way to find information on a wide variety of topics including workshops.
One aspect that I’m very excited about is the chance for you, a Wrap Institute member, to upload your own video or photo. This is a great opportunity to help build the content on the site, promote yourself or your company and to win prizes. So far, the prizes for videos, which are awarded twice a year, are: 25 yards of Avery SWF (any finish except chrome), 8 rolls of Knifeless Tape, one Makita heat gun, one complete Croftgate Wrap Care system and I’m working on a free spot in one of my Avery SWF workshops in North America.
Needless to say thanks for your membership and always feel free to contact us with suggestions or issues you have on the site. I hope that you find the site informative and that it helps create higher profits and better workflow.
Cheers!
